Cardiff Bay

Last Saturday I went to Cardiff bay with my Mum and Dad. Cardiff bay is so beautiful and peaceful place and I really like it. My dad told me the story of Cardiff bay witch I will tell you right now. About 100 years ago Cardiff bay was a very important place because people used to export coal from the bay to other places in the world like Asia. Cardiff bay was a very busy port and people were wealthy. When some people discovered oil in the other parts of the world, nobody would by coal because oil was cheaper and easy to use. Then Cardiff bay gradually became a quiet port and transformed to a deserted and dirty place. It was about 30 years ago that the mayor of Cardiff decided to make the bay beautiful and nice place again. He encouraged and helped people to build nice hotels, shops and restaurants there. He also built some convenient access roads from city centre to the bay. Cardiff bay is now a stunning and attractive place again. Last year they opened a beautiful multi-purpose building in the bay called Wales millennium centre. The picture shows me in front of the millennium.

Warburtons bakers

Today bakery ladies came to our class. They had gone to the other class yesterday.
They told us about making bread with flour, water yeast and little salt but now I will tell you a story about a bread making company called Warburtons family bakery (1876). In 1876, there was a lady called Ellen and she was married to Thomas and she had a shop called Warburtons. She sold milk, flour and other things but the only thing she didn’t sell was bread. So she decided to tell Thomas that she is going to make and sell bread and Thomas said what a silly idea because people already make bread themselves. But at night Ellen sneaked up into the kitchen and made four slices of bread then she sold it in her shop and everybody was buying it. Ellen said to Thomas can you make loads of bread with me and Thomas said yes so their idea started to give fruit and their business grew quickly. In these days they make two million bread with eleven bakeries in a day.
The bakery ladies also helped us to make some sandwiches and they gave us a Warburtons toast bread with a happy bag too.

Last weekend

I had a nice weekend last week. I tided up my room on Saturday and helped my dad and mum to clean the living room and kitchen. On Sunday, I together with my mum and dad went to a lakeside. It is called Cosmeston lake. It has a nice lake and forest. We went out into the forest and my feet got so muddy. When I got home I had to wear my other shoes. My dad also bought me a nice choco Santa which was really delicious. He bought me because it is almost Christmas. I am very happy that Christmas is coming. Are you too?

World War II

I went to the school at nine o'clock today. We did maths first thing in the morning and then we went to see the assembly of the war. Some real soldiers had come to my school and we looked at them and talked about the war with my friends. We also watched two minutes silence to give tribute to the solders who died in the second world war. Then we watched a video about the war and the city under war. War is a very bad thing and I wish all people live in peace forever.

Calling all titans

Today was one of my best days ever. I got my 10th house point today so my mum and dad bought me a nice PC Game called "calling all titans". It is a cool game and I enjoy playing it. I got all 5 characters in my line and I beat the boss and won the whole game. I said thanks to my mum and dad for buying this game and promised to do my work properly and keep my room tidy.

Spain

This is me in Barcelona. I was there in September 2005. We visited Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid. They are all beautiful cities. I was missing my computer and cartoons first but after a few days I started enjoying my time. I enjoyed Barcelona's zoo and aquarium the most. I also played with PS2 in the hotel which was quite fun. Where did you go for your summer holiday this year?

Switzerland

This is me (Farbod) when I was in Switzerland. That is on a ship in a lake by Zurich city. Switzerland is a nice and beautiful country with attractive mountains and lakes. I had a great time over there with my Mum and Dad. We stayed in a mobile home in a camp next to a very beautiful lake close to Interlaken city. Do you have any memory from Switzerland?

Junkyard

Junkyard is a place which you can find or buy used equipments. Sometimes it is a good idea to buy things from Junkyard for a cheap price especially when you have an idea for making a machine and you don't have enough money. Have you ever bought things from a Junkyard?
